This is an article I never imagined I would write, but became increasingly more likely as we inch closer to the 2024 season and tensions between Marc Marquez and Honda seemed to be reaching a fever pitch.

After weeks of speculation and rumors, Marc Marquez finally put them to rest by confirming that he is leaving HRC Honda early, breaking a four year contract that was put in place with only three of them completed.

After eleven years together, it’s hard to picture Marc Marquez in anything but the orange and red, but Honda’s inability to create a competitive motorcycle seems to have pushed him past his breaking point. It’s all but confirmed that Marc will be on a Ducati satellite team next season, which should terrify all of the other riders. The idea of the the most aggressive rider joining forces with the fastest bike on the grid could spell disaster for anybody else with the championship in their sight next year.

We’ll have to wait and see how things shake out for the rest of the Honda paddock, because there are some mighty big shoes to fill being left behind at Honda. Early rumors are already swirling about who will replace Marc, but we’ll wait until there’s more credibility to them before we report.

Another interesting thing being spread about is that Marc isn’t just taking himself to Grisini Ducati….no, he very well may be taking Repsol and RedBull with him. If that happens, his departure from HRC Honda will be about as brutal of a blow as it could be to Big Red, but again, we’ll have to wait and see. After all, this is only the very first domino to fall in a long line.
